Which Health Practitioner to Go to for Back Pain?

I have been having a sudden acute lower back pain since last Saturday. My movements were laced with pain. Even more painful than when I had appendicitis.

I am of the belief that visiting the GP wouldn’t ‘work’. I would be prescribed painkillers and sent away. Therefore, I had in my mind some options:

  • An acupuncturist whom my family has used various times.
  • A physiotherapist and osteopath – this makes the most logic sense to me as I would have the best of both worlds
  • A spinologist who comes highly recommended and I had no experience with spinologists before
  • A chiropractor – she also comes recommended however she has only about 4 years of experience under her belt. If only I can have the chiropractor who treats me when I was in Bermuda. He is the best chiropractor ever.
  • Another osteopath in the neighbouring town. There’s few reviews of him.

I used tarot cards to see who I should see for my back pain. I set my intentions and stated that I will go to the practitioner with a major arcana card. The higher the card value, the better it is for me. See results below.

  • An acupuncturist – king of pentacles, inverted
  • A physiotherapist and osteopath – 2 of pentacles
  • A spinologist – the Fool
  • A chiropractor – king of cups, inverted
  • Another osteopath in the neighbouring town – 4 of cups, inverted

Interestingly, the highly spinologist came up tops. It’s interesting that it’s the first card of the major arcana. This makes me think whether there are other practitioners that I have not listed above which are better. The next two ‘largest’ cards are king of pentacles and king of cups. I’m not surprised that the family acupuncturist is the second ‘largest’ card in terms of value (in the minor arcana, I use this order: fire, earth, air and water) as he is skilled in what he does but I doubt poking needles into me will resolve my pain in just one session. Interestingly, the chiropractor showed up as the third option. She is good at what she does (a King) and she’s caring (cups).

As I was in pain during the forecasting process, I doubted myself – is the second card supposed to represent the physiotherapist and osteopath or the spinologist? I can’t be sure. So, I picked three cards again to confirm who they were supposed to represent:

  • An acupuncturist – 7 of pentacles
  • A physiotherapist and osteopath – 4 of pentacles
  • A spinologist – 6 of swords

It’s interesting that the theme of abundance keeps showing up for the family acupuncturist. And similar messages of infancy, cautiousness showed up with the physio/osteopath. I didn’t quite like 6 of swords which represents the spinologist that I’m supposed to visit as the image doesn’t warm up to me. I picked another card for the spinologist and the Star showed up! Woohoo. (post note: as I’m writing this post, I searched for meanings of 6 of swords and it showed up as being on the road of recovery so it’s an appropriate card to be showing up).

I hope the cards and people’s recommendations are right. I will sorted after visiting the spinologist. Wish me luck.
