I have a natal Mercury square Saturn and Mars square Saturn. Based on a local space (LS) chart for my place of birth, the squares don’t exist. Most interestingly, the two squares are in clear sight in the LS chart for Dublin, Ireland!Read More »

In my birth country, my natal ASC and DSC is Gemini and Sagittarius respectively. Gemini indicates a youngish person, constantly moving, talking and thinking. Sagittarius on the other hand indicates a middle age person, sometimes having a crisis. This described my relationship. I was the younger one, constantly wanting a variety of experiences and to communicate while my ex wasn’t like that at all, who’s focused on long-term plans and material security (my Jupiter conjuncts Saturn).Read More »
The last 2 days had been horrendous. I felt horrendous. Those horrible feelings descended on me just like that. Without warning or whatsoever.
The astrologer in me reasoned that it has to do with the planets above me. Come to think of it. It seems that we are mere puppets of the universe with little free will. Yikes. My free will in this instance was to discover what had happened.
Here’s the astro mambo jumbo that I looked at:
- Solar returns: whether there’s any outer planets crossing the sensitive angles during the last 2 days. Whether there’s any aspects made by progressed moon to the solar return planets. Results: nada.
- Significant transits: the suspect is transiting Saturn conjunct natal Neptune (where Neptune trines one of my personal planets). But the first hit was in January, intermediate hits were/are in July and August. I didn’t experience anything like what I went through during the last 2 days. Hmmm.
Then it struck me. There’s a full moon recently! Flipping to the ephemeris, the full moon took place on 17 degrees Capricorn. Nope. None of my natal points is remotely near that. What about my relocated chart? The relocated Ascendant is 5-6 degrees away from 17 degree Capricorn. This was when I suspected the inaccuracy of my birth time.
Then I realised that I had been reading the ephemeris incorrectly. I was looking at the July data! OMG. What’s for August? Full Moon and a lunar eclipse took place 2 days ago on the 7th August at 15 degrees 25 arc Aquarius. Oh. That’s smack on my natal Moon with just a few arc differences. So, that’s what happened to me! A full moon & lunar eclipse hovering directly on my feelings, responses and reactions, unconscious self, emotional security, daily habits – all of which felt like shit. Absolute cow dung.
Going deeper, my natal Moon is in the 9th house. Therefore, my feelings, responses and reactions towards beliefs, knowledge, studies, foreign experiences would be in the spotlight with a culmination effect. I searched my soul high and low. There’s nothing about my beliefs. Studies – yeah, my astrology tutor returned her feedback to my recent assignment which I am pretty happy with and she confirmed that. I suppose you can say that the outcome of my studies to date was her feedback arriving in my inbox. But the feedback didn’t resonate with what I was going through.
My relocated chart. Moon is now in the 2nd house. Bingo! Yesterday was one of the worst days in my life in terms of a revelation in money matters. I have to spend more than €200 on overseas police clearance so that I can volunteer in Ireland due to child/vulnerable persons protection law. More than €200 which is a lot of money to me! And that’s not all. I have to find a notary public as part of the documents to submit to the overseas police department and to notarise a personal document as well.
Oh, now I see how the original 9th house comes into play. The 9th house rules lawyers, foreign affairs and the foreign office i.e. the overseas police force. I suppose you can convolute matters by using the 9th from the 10th but wouldn’t that represent the overseas arm of the Irish police?
Anyhow, the mystery as to why my last 2 days had been utter shite is solved.
P.S.: I can certainly extend my analysis by considering the 3rd and the 8th house, the opposing houses which are affected by the full moon. And consider the aspects to the natal moon as well to see how I experience lunar matters. But I’m happy enough with the superficial analysis above. Time to call it quits.
P.P.S.: I also realise that I was informed today something about publishing (9th) and money from it (2nd). Yikes!
I have a conjecture that you can change your physical apperance or at least change people’s perception of your appearance for better or worse when you move to a new city/country. Here’s a case study:
Senorita Amorita’s natal ascendant is Virgo and her chart ruler is Mercury in Sagittarius. So we expect her to look youngish, of mid-height and slim. Let’s qualify those characteristics by considering:
- the majority dignities of the sign of the chart ruler. Jupiter is in its sign and triplicity as it’s a night chart. Let’s add some age and height and size to her
- the ruler of the chart ruler: Jupiter. Let’s add more age and height and size to her
- tight aspects to chart ruler. There’s none.
So, potentially Amorita would be of an above average height and size for her race. She would describe herself as big in her home country.
Amorita then moved overseas and underwent a massive transformation. She lost over 25 kgs or 55 pounds and has maintained it for years up to now. You could say that her new environment and lifestyle led to the weight loss. However, I wonder if the weight loss is somehow effected so that she can fit into the relocated Ascendent and chart ruler of the new place? Let’s have a look.
Her relocated Ascendent is Aquarius which is ruled by Saturn in Libra. Her basic characteristics would be tall and slim for her race. This is qualified by:
- the major dignities of Libra: Saturn is exalted and in the triplicity (due to the time zone difference, the relocated chart becomes a day chart) in Libra. So, she would be taller and slimmer.
- the ruler of the chart ruler which is Venus. So, she would be less tall, slim and soft-bodied. And pretty too.
- tight aspects to Saturn: Jupiter in Libra. So, let’s add some height and weight to her which will be pleasing and attractive as Jupiter is in Libra.
So potentially, Amorita would be slightly taller and of an average weight for her race in the new city/country. And she would be (seen as) prettier too due to the Venus influence which wasn’t present in her home country. Interestingly, after her massive weight loss, she did fit into the description of her chart ruler.
As I have mentioned, I’m just conjecturing on the effects of relocation on one’s physical apperance. When I have enough samples, I will turn that into a hypothesis! As for now, whether you believe in relocation astrology or not, it’s safe to say that Amorita is thrilled with her new look and life. !Viva la vida!
Here’s another perspective on which foreign language(s) to learn: learn the ones which bring you the most potential for love, fame, inner peace and all-round improvement in your life!
There’s this astrological technique called AstroCartoGraphy where by relocating to another place, you change your life. For example, you want fame in your profession. Move to a place which sits on your say “Sun MC line” e.g. Beijing in China. What if you can’t relocate to Beijing for whatever reason? Based on my experience, it seems to me that interacting with people from or near the place i.e. Beijing or doing business in or near to Beijing would also boost your reputation. So, if you would like to up your fame, you might consider learning Mandarin.
Well, that’s the general concept although in practice, there are more factors to consider before you enroll for that Mandarin class. There could be different parts of our psyche that promote or inhibit us from shining and thereby gaining the recognition and fame that we seek. For those bits that inhibit us from expressing our self-identity and shine brightly, unless we have consciously worked to integrate them within us, they will continue to have their effect on us regardless where we go, do or speak. So, yeah, go learn Mandarin and also do some work on yourself to maximise your chances of fame in the whole wide world.
On the other hand though, if you can devote the energy and time to learn a foreign language, why not use that on yourself, to work through the kinks within you? When you have done that (although being whole could take a few lifetimes), it could be the case where you decide that there’s no real need to learn a foreign language anymore.
People move for all kinds of reasons – a better job, a better lifestyle, changes in lifestyle, for a better life, etc. But does the city that you have set your eyes on necessarily deliver on what it promises you?Read More »
A client is toying with the idea of moving overseas and asked if it’s a good idea to do so. I provided her with some thoughts:
The move might have been better done and suited to her when she is younger [late ascendant and client is in her late 50s, nearly 60].
It might be challenging to find a support network if that is important to her [ruler of ascendant is Mars, Mars is in combustion as it’s within 8.5 degree of the Sun, though separating so it’s not that bad but still in combustion nevertheless. I interpreted “cannot be seen or cannot see” when a planet is combustion to mean that others can’t see her and she can’t see others. This is fine if she’s into a solitary life who can cope with perhaps the strong feelings of a solitary life].
Whether there is someone involved in the move? She said no. I said the move might be motivated by a impending or current transformation in her profession/social status which might bring fear, insecurity or anxiety. [Mercury conjunct Mars. Mercury might represent someone. Since she said no, what does Mercury mean? It rules the 8th and 10th house and she mentioned the upheavals that she’s facing at work currently].
There might have been opportunities to move overseas in the past, to a place where she has friends or is part of a social group or her dream city/country. However, she might not have capitalised on the opportunity/ies due to whatever reasons, perhaps involving delay or difficulty [Mars applies a separating square to Jupiter].
Personal finances might be an issue and she might find herself being conservative with money and her personal resources [Saturn conjunct 2nd house cusp].
Her emotions seem to be focused on her profession now. Could that be the motivation for her question, to get away from something at work? [Moon conjuncts MC].
My sister commented “Whenever you are in Singapore, you will be thinking about money.” I thought about her words and thought about those past times when I was back to Singapore. She’s right. Everytime when I’m back to Singapore, money would occupy every inch of my cerebrum. However, when I’m back to Ireland, those thoughts of money would gradually vanish into nada-ness.
And the truth reveals itself – my natal Sun in Singapore is in the 2nd house of personal resources including money, self-esteem, values. In Ireland, it’s in the 7th house of relationships. So, it stands to reason that when I relocate to Singapore, the Sun shifts from the 7th to the 2nd. Therefore, my conscious focus, purpose and direction in life shifts to the matters represented by the 2nd house.
I hate to be a “slave” to astrology, always using astrology to explain life but it just seems to “work” for me. I wasn’t even using astrology to explain my circumstances as the starting point but almost always on hindsight.
My journey with astrology continues.
